Atherton thinks that the cirlces were created by reflective air "analogous to ordinary suction". Thus he gives the circle phenomena the usual brush off... "He considers that the reflective air, thus rising and driven out by the descending current, will have additional power when the fixed card [he used cards to illustrate what happens with the wind] is considerably larger than the other." Surely there were others that knew at this time that some of these circles were cause by (air) ships.

The author states very clearly at page 51 that a Thunderbird is "...actually a relatively small flying vehicle of the Star People". And the Star People are defined as:
"Now-World people from the distant planets and star system who helped in the creation of the first human beings on Earth. In the Western Great Lakes oral tradition, they have continously interacted with human beings and have been a respected souce of instruction and knowledge" -at page 72
This book also notes that there was a "war of the star people".

"A landmark exposé firmly grounded in fact, THE DAY AFTER ROSWELL puts a fifty-year-old controversy to rest. Since 1947, the mysterious crash of an unidentified aircraft at Roswell, New Mexico, has fueled a firestorm of speculation and controversy with no conclusive evidence of its extraterrestrial origin - until now. Colonel Philip J. Corso (Ret.), a member of President Eisenhower's National Security and former head of the Foreign Technology Desk at the U.S. Army's Research & Development department, has come forward to tell the whole exp losive story. Backed by documents newly declassified through the Freedom of Information Act, Colonel Corso reveals for the first time his personal stewardship of alien artifacts from the crash, and discloses the U.S. government's astonishing role in the Roswell incident: what was found, the cover-up, and how these alien artifacts changed the course of twentieth-century history." - from the dust jacket

"A top UFO researcher reveals the truth behind a decade of alien encounters in upstate New York.
When New York native Ellen Crystal first encountered aliens and their spacecraft in California in 1971, she made a hasty return home. But her alien contacts continued, and over the years she has taken hundreds of photographs of crafts, visitors, and related phenomena depicting a technology far beyond the limits of human science.
Silent Invasion is the startling account of Crystall's close encounters in Pine Bush, New York, and her endeavors to capture these outer space visitors on film. Using evidence deduced from her sightings, she presents fascinating yet credible explanations for many UFO mysteries:
- Why do UFOs congregate in certain areas?
- What are the underground noises that have been heard throughout the night in these woods and fields?
- Is the U.S. Government involved?" - from the back cover of of the 1557784930 ISBN edition.

"In 1955, she was assigned to catalog items from the interior of a recovered UFO brought to the air base. All items were photographed and tagged. Mrs. G. also witnessed the conveyance of two dead humanoid bodies from one room to another. The bodies, preserved in chemicals, were four to five feet tall, had general human features, except that the heads were large relative to the bodies and the eyes were slanted.
